Getting Started with Calculator: History & Money (Android)

Welcome to Calculator: History & Money — your all-in-one everyday calculator designed for real life. This guide walks you through all the key features of the app.

1. The Basic Calculator

When you open the app, you land on the Basic Calculator. It looks like a standard calculator — but it's much smarter.

Key features:

  • Live Result Preview: The answer updates in real time as you type. No need to press equals to see the result.
  • Order of Operations (PEMDAS): Unlike most basic calculators, we correctly handle parentheses ( ) and apply the standard mathematical order of operations.
  • Example: Typing 3 + 4 × 2 will give you 11, not 14.

2. Calculation History

Tap the History icon (clock) to view all your past calculations.

  • Scroll through your full calculation log
  • Tap any past result to copy it to the current input
  • Delete individual entries or clear the entire history

Your history is saved automatically so you never lose important calculations.

3. Money Calculator Tools

Tap the Money tab to access the suite of money tools.

Tip Calculator (Free)

  1. Enter the bill total.
  2. Select the tip percentage (or enter a custom amount).
  3. Enter the number of people to split the bill.
  4. See the per-person amount instantly.

Sales Tax Calculator (Premium)

  • Enter a price and your local tax rate.
  • Toggle between adding tax (pre-tax to post-tax) and removing tax (post-tax to pre-tax).

Unit Price Comparison (Premium)

  • Enter the price and quantity/weight for two items.
  • The app calculates and highlights the better value per unit.
  • Supports oz, lb, g, kg, ml, L, and count units.

Discount Calculator (Premium)

  • Enter the original price and up to 3 sequential discounts.
  • Perfect for stacked promotions like "30% off + extra 10% off".
  • Shows savings amount and final price.

Wage Calculator (Premium)

  • Enter your hourly rate and hours worked.
  • Add overtime rate if applicable.
  • Enter a tax rate to estimate net pay.

4. Time Calculator

Tap the Time tab to access the Time Calculator.

Adding & Subtracting Time

  1. Enter hours, minutes, and seconds for each entry.
  2. Tap + to add or − to subtract.
  3. The running total updates automatically.

Time History

All time calculations are saved in the Time History screen. Tap any entry to review or re-use it.

Common Uses

  • Total hours worked across multiple shifts
  • Calculate duration between two times
  • Track flight or travel durations

5. Themes & Dark Mode

Personalize your app!

  1. Tap the Settings icon (⚙️) in the top corner.
  2. Choose from multiple theme colors.
  3. Toggle Dark Mode for a comfortable night-time experience.
  4. Select your preferred language.
